Japanese Town Creates Masterpieces With Rice

The plants are harvested after mid-August and visitors will have to wait for next summer to see rice paddy art again.

Until then, we can admire the mesmerizing art from the comfort of our home.

Tanbo art or rice paddy art it’s well-known in Aomori Prefecture, the small town of Inakadate.

Don’t you think this is mind-blowing?

The designs are sketched by the farmers on computers, but the villagers also have to agree on the theme, it’s all about teamwork.

Since 1993, the town has been creating these wonderful rice paddy arts and there are four types of rice plants with different colors which are used on 15,000 square meters.

Well…this is the transformation of paddies into massive works of art.
